Internet Marketing Tips - Experimenting With Other Niches

Lots of marketers pigeonhole themselves into one niche and I never could understand why. Once you have an established business running, why not test the waters with other niches? I do it all the time and occasionally I find one that is really profitable. I then can decide how much time I want to put into it. I may even decide to drop something else that I am doing if my discovery turns out to be a gold mine. Well, this article is going to give you three simple steps to test out other niches that won’t take you much time at all.

The first step is to hit the keyword search tools. I use Wordtracker. Pick out a topic. It doesn’t matter what it is. Heck, write down a list of your hobbies or interests and start there. Go to the dictionary and pick out a word. Just pick something as a starting point. The time you’ll spend is literally minutes, so you’re not wasting a lot of time. Plug your word or phrase into Wordtracker and see how many daily searches there are. If you see potential there, move onto the next step.

Go to Google and see how many competing sites there are for the niche. If you see that the competition is weak, this may be a good niche to get into. Certainly it’s worth giving it a shot. Here’s a quick way to go about determining if it’s going to be profitable or not and it won’t take you a lot of time at all. This is the final step, which involves several things.

Go to the Clickbank marketplace and see if there is a product already selling for the niche. If there is, get a copy of it and write a review on it. Put the review on your blog. Then, write an article on the subject and submit the article to a directory. At the end of the article, direct people to your blog and let them read your review of the product. See how many sales you get. At the very least, see how many clicks you get on your blog. If you see that the traffic is steady, this may very well indicate a viable niche.

This whole process won’t take you more than a couple of hours and is a great way to see if a niche is going to have the potential to be profitable or not.

The Difference Between Niches & Products

What is the difference between niches and product offerings? You might of heard the first thing you do is market research to find a profitable niche. This is true.

However once you find a profitable niche, it should be clear what it is they want. It is very simple. A niche wants one thing and one thing only. If you are in the weight loss niche, people want to lose weight, as quickly & easily as possible.

Remember that it is simple. Your job then becomes to create a product design for a particular niche. Once you create that product, you need a creative way of selling that product. Something to differentiate yourself from the crowd. This is called your USP or unique selling point.

The key that you have to understand is that you can take that product, change your sales approach and sell it to a completely different niche. For example that weight-loss product of yours could be sound to potential brides, in the bridal niche. Or it could be sold to pregnant women in the pregnancy niche.

Perhaps you can change little things about the product and sell it to the diet or fitness niche. You see that a lot of these niches are related and or sub-niche of each other. They are still different niches.

A niche is a group of people who want one central thing. The bridal niche is for Brides who want a perfect wedding. The weight-loss is a niche for people who want to loose weight. The diet niche is for people who want to loose weight with diets. The fitness niche is for people who want to get fit.

All niches all want the same things. They just want to do it as quickly and easily as possible. It’s all about results without effort. If you can position your offer in such a way that your prospects thinks he or she can get whatever it is that they want without doing much work, then you have a killer sales approach.

Every product is a hidden selling point, figuring out what niches want is dead simple. Finding the selling point, and connecting to the prospects wants is your job.
